The research begins
NSF-funded work on applying language models to patents and dense technical literature — semantic search, classification, retrieval-augmented generation. Years before the agent wave, this was the question: can a system do the search itself?

PatentPlusAI Inc.
Incorporated in Delaware. The research becomes a company with one product thesis: don't build a better search box — build the searcher.
2025
AutoPat in production
Commercial launch in February 2025. Autonomous searches running for real patent teams, with a venture round led by Draper Associates behind it.
